strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord

After we had done 4 clinic days and traveled to and from Suma Pipi, we were able to rest and clean up. Several of us were excited to hike to the swimming hole.

The swimming hole is a 45 minute hike above the village of Walakitang into the jungle. We walk over a felled tree and conquer many a muddy slope. I foolishly did it again in Crocs. Silly me. I KNOW better!

We had a great time swimming in the natural pool. Swinging from vines and playing in the falls. It was a great reward.

After we had cooled off, the rain forest came down with, what else, rain. Beautiful, sweet, God-given rain. We gathered our things for the wet hike back to our shanty.

Covered with mud after several slides down muddy slopes, holding my Crocs (so, I was barefoot), I had another hill to climb. Luckily I was still in good spirits but tired. Bracing myself halfway, I said out loud "The joy of the Lord is my strength!"

God IS Joy. It's who He is. Therefore, I can and will find my strength in HIM!

I got up the hill.
